Country Music Week 2017 Recap

Canadian Country Music Week in Saskatoon was one for the books! We have returned home with so many great memories and new friendships! It is always an amazing whirlwind – we wake up at 4am most mornings and don’t usually hit the pillow until past midnight. Needless to say, it is a fun-filled week of events from dawn until dusk!

This year, we hosted the third annual Rise & Shine event – A Morning of Music with Women of Canadian Country. This year’s show featured performances and interviews with some amazing country groups, duos and solo acts including Nice Horse, Tenille Arts, The Doll Sisters, Amy Nelson, Kirsty Lee Akers and yours truly! Thanks so much to those of you who streamed in to watch the show. And in case you missed it… you can still check it out here on our Facebook page!

We want to say a HUGE THANKS to everyone who helped make the show a success! Big thanks to the incredible sponsors of this year’s event: Radisson Hotel Saskatoon (if you visit Saskatoon, this is the place you want to stay!), SilverBirch Hotels, Anya Wilson Promotions, Country 107.3 and Freeman Sound.

Thank you to our co-host Randy Owen – you rock! Thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping keep everything running smoothly. Thank you to Mandy Pravda who coordinated the incredible gift bags for the event, and the local sponsors who contributed the amazing goodies: Anytime Fitness, Revamp Salon, Kelsey and Chelsea Kapiniak from

Rodan and Fields and Beck & Boosh. (BONUS - You can use our promo code KENNEDY to get 15% off at www.beckandboosh.com from now until the end of October!)

To all of the performers – thanks for sharing your incredible talents. We are so inspired by you all, and we feel so grateful to have been able to share the stage with you ladies! CLICK HERE to see all of the photos from this year’s event. If you were there in person, make sure to tag yourself!

In addition to Rise & Shine, we had a number of other memorable moments during CCMA week. The most exciting moment was seeing Julie’s name on the big screen for her nomination for Fiddle Player of the Year! It was so special to celebrate this nomination, and we had a blast getting all dressed up for the awards show. There are actually three awards shows that happen throughout the week, so we had three days of gowns, high heels and sparkly jewelry… which you know is just fun times all around for us girly girls! :)

We want to finish up by saying how honoured we feel to be a part of the Canadian country music family. CCMA week is a yearly reminder that we are surrounded by so much talent in this amazing country, and we are so lucky to get to make music in this inspiring community. See you next year in Hamilton!
